Bombs strike Georgian town Gori, several injured

GORI, Georgia, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Russian aircraft bombed the Georgian town of Gori on Tuesday, injuring several civilians in all but deserted streets, a Reuters witness said.

"The bombs hit in front of us and beside us," a Reuters reporter driving through Gori in a vehicle said. "Several people were wounded and lying in the street. We got straight out of there."

The reporter said the street was near hillside areas where Russian aircraft had earlier attacked Georgian artillery positions. (Reporting by Matt Robinson, writing by Ron Popeski)
