N'DJAMENA, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Gabon's president-elect Ali Ben Bongo visited Chad on Saturday, his third stop on a central African tour intended to garner regional support after winning a vote that his rivals have denounced and which sparked violence. Ben Bongo will take over as president of the oil-producing nation despite several days of clashes and opposition vows of further protests. "The choice of the Gabonese people (Ali Ben Bongo) augurs for a radiant future for Gabon," Chadian President Idriss Deby told journalists in the capital N'Djamena, where he spent around two hours with Ben Bongo. Ben Bongo will succeed his father Omar Bongo, who ruled Gabon for over 40 years until he died in June this year. Ben Bongo visited Cameroon and Congo Republic on Friday, while on the same day Senegal's President Abdoulaye Wade congratulated Ben Bongo on his victory. "It is normal that I should visit central African leaders and in order to receive their advice," Ben Bongo said. Ben Bongo's rivals accuse him of rigging the Aug. 30 poll, which he won with just under 42 percent. His two main challengers have rejected the election result but are yet to officially contest the Constitutional Court's declaration of Ben Bongo's victory, which has been recognised by several leaders, including former colonial power France, a long-time ally of Omar Bongo. As was widely expected, post-election violence died down relatively quickly, which has reassured investors, including holders of its 2017 Eurobond <362420AA9=RRPS>.
