ARBIL, Iraq, Aug 17 (Reuters) - One person was killed and four injured when police fired on demonstrators on Sunday in Iraq's normally quiet autonomous Kurdish region. The protesters were demanding better water services in the town of Suran, 100 km (62 miles) north of the Kurdish regional capital Arbil. "A boy was killed. He was at the demonstration not taking part. The four wounded people were demonstrators," said the town's mayor, Krmanj Ezzat. Unrest is rare in the Kurdish north, which has been spared the widespread violence that hit the rest of Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.
