July 19 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1800 GMT on Sunday.

* ANBAR - A U.S. soldier was killed in combat in Iraq's western Anbar province, the U.S. military said without giving further details.

MADAEN - A bomb killed Mahmoud Abdullah, a senior anti-insurgent militia leader, in Madaen town, 30 km (20 miles) southeast of Baghdad, after it was attached to his car, major Hassan Rasheed of Madaen police said. The bomb also wounded Abdullah's guards, the source added.

ABU GHRAIB - A roadside bomb killed an Iraqi soldier and wounded another when an army patrol passed by in Abu Ghraib town, on the western outskirts of Baghdad, police said. The attack occurred close to an Iraqi police checkpoint and wounded two policemen as well, the source said.

MOSUL - Gunmen shot dead a handicapped man in western Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, on Saturday, police said.

MOSUL - A joint Iraqi-U.S. force shot and wounded a gunman who had hurled a hand grenade at their patrol in western Mosul on Saturday, police said. The attack did not harm the soldiers.
