FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, Aug 23

Aug 23 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1520 GMT on Sunday.

*denotes a new or updated item

* BAGHDAD - A U.S. soldier died from combat related wounds sustained while conducting a patrol in Baghdad, the U.S. military said. It did not say when the wounds were sustained.

MOSUL - Gunmen in a car attacked a police checkpoint and shot dead a policeman in southwest Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

TAJI - A roadside bomb wounded 11 policemen when it targeted their patrol in the town of Taji, 20 km (9 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - Police said they found the body of a man on Saturday whose throat had been slit in eastern Mosul.
