MOSCOW, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Georgia's breakaway region of Abkhazia expects to sign a deal within a few months allowing Russia to establish a naval base and an airbase on its soil, a separatist official told Reuters on Thursday.

"We are now talking about this deal being signed, most probably, within the next few months," Kristian Bzhania, spokesman for Abkhaz separatist leader Sergei Bagapsh, told Reuters by telephone from the region's capital Sukhumi. (Reporting by Dmitry Solovyov; Editing by Christian Lowe)
