BP says censured by U.S. safety regulator

LONDON, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Oil major BP Plc <BP.L> said it had been censured by U.S. safety regulator Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) over a 2005 explosion at its Texas City refinery which killed 15 workers.

"BP Texas City has received OSHA's citations .. we strongly disagree with their conclusions," BP said in a statement.

The censure relates to what OSHA said previously was BP's failure to show how it would fix safety violations found after the explosion.

BP has already received other fines over the incident.

The New York Times reported Friday that OSHA planned to hit BP with a $87 million fine -- the largest it has ever levied -- on Friday in relation to the matter. (Reporting by Tom Bergin; editing by Simon Jessop)
