FACTBOX-Military deaths in Afghanistan

Aug 31 (Reuters) - A British Royal Marine was killed on Saturday in an explosion while on foot patrol near Gereshk in Helmand province in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said.

The latest death was the 208th British military fatality in the Afghan conflict.

Here are figures for foreign military deaths as a result of violence or accidents in Afghanistan since 2001:
