Jan 12 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq as of 2100 GMT on Friday:

* Indicates a new or updated item.

* MOSUL - The bodies of seven people, including those of a journalist working for a Shi'ite newspaper and an Iraqi army officer, were found in various parts of Mosul 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, police and hospital sources said.

* BASMAIA - Police recovered three unidentified bodies with gunshot wounds and bearing signs of torture in Basmaia, 45 km (28 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

*BAGHDAD - Police found the bodies of 10 people, most of them tortured and shot in the head, around Baghdad in the 24 hours up to Friday evening, an Interior Ministry source said.

BAGHDAD - Police recovered 37 bodies in the 24 hours to Thursday evening, most of them tortured and shot, apparently victims of death squads, an Interior Ministry source said.
