Two of the new cases were an adult male and adult female who got sick after contact with a Taiwanese woman and her daughter at a wedding party last week in a northern Philippine town, Health Secretary Francisco Duque told reporters. The other two cases were a 13-year-old boy who came from Hong Kong on May 23 and a one-year-old girl who arrived on May 19 after a trip with her parents to the United States, Duque said. "The 13 year-old boy has fully recovered while the rest still have a cough," he said, adding 28 cases were still under observation pending laboratory test results. Duque said the two children showed signs of the flu on the same day they arrived at the airport while the two adults had symptoms on May 21 and were admitted to hospitals three days later. "Both adults are contacts of the confirmed case in Taiwan," Duque told reporters. He said other guests at the wedding were being contacted. Health authorities said about 50 people were at the party. Nearly 30 other patients are under observation in the Philippines for the flu virus that has killed 92 people and infected more than 13,000 worldwide, the health chief said. "The Department of Health is expecting more confirmed cases in the coming weeks due to its intensive contact tracing and heightened awareness among the public," Duque added.
