GUATEMALA CITY, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Center-left candidate Alvaro Colom claimed victory in Guatemala's presidential election on Sunday against a retired general who had sought to use the army to crush rampant crime.

Colom had an unassailable lead of 5.4 percentage points over Gen. Otto Perez Molina with votes counted from more than 95 percent of polling stations.
