(Recasts, adds detail) CULIACAN, Mexico, July 5 (Reuters) - A Mexican cargo plane crashed into cars and killed nine people when the pilot lost control of the aircraft while taking off on Thursday in the northern city of Culiacan. As the jet plane sped down the runway to lift off, a tire blew out and caused the pilot to lose control, the government said. The twin-engine Sabreliner ran onto a road and burst into flames as it hit a military vehicle, two other cars and a mechanic's workshop. Two soldiers, four civilians and three crew members were killed in the crash, said Francisco Diaz, director of civil protection in the state of Sinaloa. He had earlier said the plane lost control while trying to land. President Felipe Calderon was on the way to Culiacan by plane when the accident occurred, and he was forced to cancel the visit, a government spokeswoman said. The two soldiers killed in the crash were part of the security operation for Calderon's visit. Another five people were injured and sent to hospital, Diaz said. The plane was owned by Jet Paqueteria, a Mexican firm. (Additional reporting by Tomas Sarmiento)
