WASHINGTON, Sept 7 (Reuters) - There are no overt threats or calls to attack on the purported new videotape of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, CNN reported on Friday, citing a U.S. official.

Date references on the video indicated it was made recently, CNN added, citing the unidentified official.

U.S. officials said earlier the government has obtained a copy of a purported new videotape of bin Laden and is studying it.
