MIAMI, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Hurricane Paloma strengthened in the Caribbean on Friday into a Category 2 storm on the five-step Saffir-Simpson scale of intensity as it swirled toward the Cayman Islands and Cuba, U.S. forecasters said. The storm's maximum sustained winds increased to 105 miles per hour (165 km per hour) late on Friday afternoon, the U.S, National Hurricane Center said.
