(Adds details and company comment) NEW YORK, Jan 8 (Reuters) - An explosion at American Electric Power's (AEP) <AEP.N> Muskingum River power plant in Beverly, Ohio on Monday morning killed one person and injured six to eight others, AEP and the local fire department said. The blast occurred while hydrogen was being delivered to the plant, killing the driver of the delivery truck, said Melissa McHenry, AEP spokeswoman. The company did not have details on those injured but said the injuries appeared to be minor. The cause of the explosion that shut one of the plant's five units was not immediately known, according to McHenry. "Our first concern is for our employees. Our deepest sympathies to the driver and his family," McHenry added. (Additional reporting by Matt Daily)
