Fire engulfs several buildings in New Jersey -police

NEW YORK, Nov 9 (Reuters) - A fire engulfed several buildings in West New York, New Jersey, on Friday, police said.

Plumes of black smoke and flames could be seen across the Hudson River from New York City, Reuters witnesses said.

It was said to be a four-alarm fire, according to the Breaking News Network, with four to five buildings in "an extreme heavy fire condition." (Reporting by Michelle Nichols; Editing by Bill Trott)
