(Adds Iran state media) WASHINGTON, July 10 (Reuters) - There has been no information to substantiate a rumor in energy markets of a third Iranian missile test, a U.S. intelligence official said on Thursday. "I have not heard that," the official said, when asked whether she had any information about a third test. The official had earlier confirmed a missile had been test-launched late on Wednesday Iran time in a second military exercise in less than 24 hours. Oil prices surged $6 in late afternoon trade, with some traders talking of a potential third missile test by Tehran. Iran's state-run English and Arabic language satellite channels, which have been swift in reporting previous missile launches, gave no indication of a third missile test in news bulletins late on Thursday. Other local Iranian media also made no mention of a third missile test. (Reporting by Randall Mikkelsen; Editing by Doina Chiacu and Frances Kerry)
