TEGUCIGALPA, July 10 (Reuters) - Honduras' interim top diplomat, who insulted U.S. President Barack Obama, has quit his post as foreign minister and has been offered the post of minister of justice and government, caretaker president Roberto Micheletti said on Friday.

"Foreign Minister Enrique Ortez has presented his resignation and given his abilities, I have asked him to take up the post of minister of government and justice," Micheletti said at an act.

He gave no reasons for the change. (Reporting by Gustavo Palencia; writing by Simon Gardner; editing by Todd Eastham)
