Space shuttle Discovery's crew

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., March 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. space shuttle Discovery lifted off on Sunday from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, carrying seven astronauts on a 13-day mission to the International Space Station.

Here are the crew members: *Commander Lee Archambault - A 48-year-old U.S. Air Force colonel from Bellwood, Illinois, who is married with three children. Carried out 22 combat missions in the Gulf War and has flown the F-117A Stealth fighter. Flew on the 2007 mission of shuttle Atlantis to the International Space Station. *Pilot Dominic "Tony" Antonelli - A 41-year-old U.S. Navy commander born in Detroit, Michigan, married with two children. Naval aviator who served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz and has over 3,200 hours in 41 different aircraft. Making his first spaceflight. *Lead spacewalker Steven Swanson - A 48-year-old software engineer from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, married with three children. Holds a doctorate in computer science and joined NASA in 1987 as a systems engineer. Flew on space shuttle Atlantis in 2007, delivering solar arrays to the International Space Station. Logged nearly 14 hours in two spacewalks. *Spacewalker Joseph Acaba - A 41-year-old geologist and U.S. Marine Corps reservist from Inglewood, California, with three children. Taught middle and high school in Florida. Served in the U.S. Peace Corps and as a manager for the Caribbean Marine Research Center in the Bahamas. Making his first spaceflight. *Spacewalker Richard Arnold - A 45-year-old teacher who grew up in Bowie, Maryland, married with two children. Holds a masters degree in marine and environmental science. Served as a teacher in Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Romania and Indonesia. Did a 10-day mission on Aquarius, the world's only permanent undersea laboratory. Making his first spaceflight. *Mission Specialist John Phillips - A 57-year-old scientist from Fort Belvoir, Virginia, married with two children. Holds a doctorate in geophysics and space physics. Former naval aviator who flew on space shuttle Endeavour in 2001. Served a six-month tour of duty aboard the International Space Station in 2005. Has logged over 190 days in space. *Mission specialist Koichi Wakata - A 45-year-old engineer born in Saitama, Japan, married with one child. Holds a doctorate in aerospace engineering. A former structural engineer for Japan Airlines, Wakata joined Japan's space agency in 1992. Veteran of two previous space shuttle missions, he will become the first Japanese astronaut to live on the space station.
