WASHINGTON, July 20 (Reuters) - Black & Decker Corp. <BDK.N> will recall about 202,000 grass trimmers after 58 reports of people injured from parts that flew off, two of whom required medical attention, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Friday.

The company received 707 reports of the machine's spool, spool cap and trimmer string coming loose and flying off, causing injuries ranging from serious cuts on legs to bruises and facial injuries, the agency said.

The trimmer, called the Black & Decker GH1000 Grasshog XP String Trimmer/Edgers and made in China, was sold from November 2005 through January 2007 for about $70, the CPSC said.

The recall includes machines with date codes 200546 through 200645 and with black spool covers.

Owners were advised to stop using the machine and contact Black & Decker at 1-888-742-9158 for a free repair kit. (Reporting by Jeremy Pelofsky)
