Magnitude 6.5 quake hits south Philippines - USGS

WASHINGTON, Aug 20 (Reuters) - A magnitude 6.5 earthquake hit the southeastern Philippines on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It said the quake was very shallow at 6.3 miles (10 km) deep and was centered 140 miles (226 km) east-southeast of Davao City on the island of Mindanao.
