With immediate effect, Reuters will refer to the Virginia Tech shooter as Seung-Hui Cho, in line with the practice of his family. He had been previously identified by police and university officials as Cho Seung-Hui. In South Korea, the family name customarily comes before given names, but that order is often reversed in the United States or other countries to conform with local custom.
