SAN DIEGO, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Damages from the wildfires in California's San Diego County were expected to exceed $1 billion, a top official said on Wednesday. "Based on initial estimates, just the homes damaged will be over $1 billion," Ron Lane, San Diego County emergency services director, told a news conference.
