Dolly degrades to tropical depression over Texas-NHC

HOUSTON, July 24 (Reuters) - U.S. forecasters downgraded Dolly to a tropical depression on Thursday as it dissipated over South Texas.

At 5 p.m. EDT (2100 GMT), the storm was 35 miles (56 km) south of Eagle Pass, Texas, with maximum sustained winds near 35 mph (55 kph), the National Hurricane Center said. (Editing by Sandra Maler) (For latest U.S. National Hurricane Center reports, see http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/)
