PROVIDENCE, R.I., April 25 (Reuters) - U.S. talks with North Korea in Pyongyang this week over its long-overdue declaration of its nuclear programs were "productive," a senior U.S. official said on Friday.

"I think they had very lengthy and I think productive discussions," U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Chris Hill told reporters after delivering a lecture at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

"They dealt with a number of elements that we need to get put in place if we are going to get through this declaration." (Reporting by Jason Szep; editing by Mohammad Zargham)
