NEW YORK, Jan 30 (Reuters) - An explosion killed four people, including a firefighter and an emergency worker, and leveled a gas station in Ghent, West Virginia, on Tuesday, local officials said.

Four people were hospitalized and two were in critical condition, said an official with the West Virginia division of the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

The firefighter and emergency worker were responding to a call about a liquid petroleum leak at the station at the time of the blast.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, the official said.
