Workers flee Mexican skyscraper after bomb scare

MEXICO CITY, Aug 31 (Reuters) - Hundreds of workers fled Mexico's Torre Mayor skyscraper, the tallest in Latin America, on Friday, in a security alert a day after police removed a bomb from a car in the building's car park.

Employees fled as police and emergency crews scoured the building. Local media said an anonymous bomb threat had been called in to the tower, which houses banks and international firms like consultants McKinsey and Deloitte.

On Thursday, some 10,000 office workers were evacuated when police removed a small tube bomb from a car in the building. The tubes were taken away and later found to contain low grade gunpowder.

The office administrators said nothing dangerous had been found on Friday, and they called on workers to reenter the building.
