MIAMI, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Tropical Storm Erika weakened to a tropical depression in the northeast Caribbean near Puerto Rico on Thursday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. The system was still expected to bring heavy rain to Puerto Rico and nearby islands, the forecasters said.
