(Corrects headline and story to make clear figures are from the start of 2007 rather than the start of 2006 after the organisation corrected earlier information it gave to Reuters) MOGADISHU, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Conflict in Somalia has killed 5,930 civilians in the capital Mogadishu since the beginning of 2007, a local human rights group said on Sunday.

The Elman Peace and Human Rights Organisation added that it had verified 7,980 people wounded, and 717,784 displaced from their homes, in a turbulent year that saw the toppling of an Islamist movement, followed by an insurgency.
