SEOUL, Aug 2 (Reuters) - South Korea said on Thursday it could ban the import of U.S. beef if Washington does not take sufficient measures to ensure materials Seoul sees as risky are not included in shipments.

The farm ministry said it has suspended quarantine inspections of U.S. beef after finding banned material, a move which will severely disrupt imports only recently resumed after a 3-½ year hiatus.
