N.Korea expels South's workers from factory zone

SEOUL, March 27 (Reuters) - North Korea has expelled most of the South Korean managers working in a joint factory park just north of their heavily armed border, a government official said on Thursday.

The move is one of the most aggressive shows made by the North against the South in years and comes as South Korea's new president has pledged to take a tougher line on North Korea for its widely condemned human rights abuses.

An official from the South's Unification Ministry said 11 South Korean managers out of 13 at the Kaesong industrial park, located about a few hundred metres north of the border, were ordered to leave by North Korean officials.

No reason was given for the expulsion. (Reporting by Jon Herskovitz and Lee Jiyeon; Editing by Sanjeew Miglani)
