SEOUL, Dec 7 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Thursday, prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

CHOSUN ILBO

- The government is planning to give 1 trillion won ($1.09 billion) in aid to North Korea in 2007 even thought the North tested a nuclear device.

- The country's per-capita gross national income is expected to surpass $20,000 next year due to the falling value of the dollar, according to economic institutes.

DONG-A ILBO

- South Korea and the United States struck a deal to increase Seoul's share of the cost of maintaining U.S. soldiers here in 2007 and 2008 by 6.6 percent, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said.

MAEIL BUSINESS NEWSPAPER

- LG Electronics <066570.KS> is to supply 10,000 monitors for Emirates Airlines [[EMAIR.UL].

KOREA ECONOMIC DAILY

- Executives of Daewoo International <047050.KS>, Doosan Infracore <042670.KS> and five other companies were indicted on charges of illegally exporting shell production facility and technology to Myanmar, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said.

KOREA TIMES

- President Roh Moo-hyun and Australian Prime Minister John Howard agreed to launch a feasibility study on a free trade agreement between the two countries in the first half of next year, South Korean officials said.

- South Korea and Spain will sign an agreement to boost defence cooperation, the defence ministry said.
