SEOUL, April 24 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Tuesday, prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

CHOSUN ILBO

- The government plans to hire more than 50,000 new civil servants in the next five years, according to the ministry of government administration and home affairs.

- During an interview with KBS radio, Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung said South Korea will start providing rice aid to North Korea if it either shuts down or seals the Yongbyon nuclear facility or invites IAEA officials to the site.

- Samsung Group, parent of Samsung Electronics <005930.KS>, extended a contract with the International Olympic Committee to sponsor wireless communication for the Olympic Games until 2016.

DONG-A ILBO

- South Korea and the European Union will start their first round of free trade agreement talks on May 7.

- A group of lawmakers from the Uri Party will visit North Korea with business leaders on May 2 to discuss inter-Korean economic cooperation and exchange programmes, said Uri Party official Kim Hyuk-kyu.

JOONGANG ILBO

- Lee Hae-chan, a special aide to South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun, said the two Koreas, the United States and China should meet to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue.

- Under the South Korea-U.S. free trade agreement, window guidance from government officials to domestic and foreign banks in South Korea will be restricted.
