Sri Lanka bus blast kills 16, wounds 40 -police

COLOMBO, April 25 (Reuters) - At least 16 people were killed and 40 were wounded when a blast ripped through a packed commuter bus during the evening rush-hour in the Sri Lankan capital on Friday, a police spokesman said.

"Sixteen people killed and about 40 injured from the explosion," spokesman N.K. Ilangakoon said. (Reporting by Ranga Sirilal; Editing by David Fogarty)
