Aug 1 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1650 GMT on Friday: *denotes new or updated item *NIMROZ - A suicide bomber on foot killed three civilians in Zaranj district in the southern province of Nimroz on Friday, district police chief Ayub Badakhshi told Reuters. KUNAR - An improvised explosive device (IED) killed four soldiers from NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and one Afghan civilian on Friday in the northwestern province of Kunar, the ISAF said in a statement. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. KHOST - An IED strike killed one ISAF soldier in the eastern province of Khost on Friday, the ISAF said in a statement. KANDAHAR - Five Afghan policemen were killed and two wounded on Thursday when their vehicle hit a remote-controlled roadside bomb in the southern Panjwai district of Kandahar province, a senior police official said. KHOST - A roadside bomb hit a civilian car, killing a woman and her child and wounding the driver near the provincial capital of Khost province on Thursday evening, the provincial governor said. KANDAHAR - Taliban insurgents shot dead a tribal chief and his three sons and abducted seven other people from the Arghandab district of Kandahar on Thursday, accusing them of helping government and foreign forces, a government official said.
