Following are some key facts on the elections: - About 45 million eligible voters can cast their ballots from 7 a.m. (2300 GMT Sunday) onwards in more than 300,000 polling areas in 81 provinces. - Half the 24 seats in the Senate, all 275 slots in the House of Representatives and almost 18,000 posts in local government will be contested. - Various opinion surveys show 6 of the 12 seats up for grabs in the Senate would go to the anti-Arroyo camp, with the administration taking four and independents two. - Government supporters claim they can win over 200 of the seats in the House of Representatives. - In most smaller cities and municipalities, the counting and tallying of votes should be completed in about 24 hours with the winners proclaimed in two to three days. - Results for elections in the Senate may not be finalised for four weeks. Results may also be delayed if losing candidates file protests.
