COX'S BAZAR, Bangladesh, July 6 (Reuters) - Landslides triggered by heavy rain killed at least two people and injured 11 in Bangladesh's southeastern Cox's Bazar area on Friday, police said.

They said rescuers were looking for more people at several other sites where hills collapsed, burying homes.

Heavy rains continued to fall in and around the seaside resort on Friday, slowing rescue efforts.

Last month, at least 128 people were killed and dozens injured when a series of rain-triggered landslides knocked down hillside homes in Chittagong city, officials said.

The government blamed the landslides mainly on indiscriminate felling of trees and construction of apartment buildings on hillsides.
