May 22 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan reported by 0630 GMT on Friday.

HELMAND - Afghan and U.S.-led forces said they killed two militants and arrested six suspects in the Naad Ali district of southern Helmand province on Thursday, in an anti-Taliban operation. They also seized and destroyed opium seeds.

HELMAND - Afghan and U.S. forces killed one militant and arrested three others early on Friday in the Nawa district of southern Helmand province, the U.S. military said.

WARDAK - An Afghan army commando was killed and another soldier wounded on Thursday when their patrol was ambushed in Chak district of Wardak province, which borders Kabul.

GHAZNI - Afghan police on Wednesday killed the top militant commander in Andar district of Ghazni province, Abdul Baki, while conducting a search of his residence, the U.S. military said.

Baki commanded a cell of 20 to 30 fighters who coordinated and carried out attacks on government and troops in the area.

Police also discovered 50 voter registration cards at his compound, apparently taken from villagers, the statement added.
