(Removes extraneous material in last paragraph) Feb 19 - (Reuters) - Two bombs exploded aboard a train bound from India to Pakistan on Monday, with at least 66 passengers dying in the ensuing conflagration. Following is a brief chronology of some major attacks on train and subway systems around the world in the last 10 years. March 20, 1995 - Twelve people die and thousands are injured when members of the Japanese religious cult Aum Shinrikyo release the nerve agent sarin on the Tokyo underground during rush hour. July 25, 1995 - A gas canister bomb explodes ona rush-hour underground train at the crowded Saint-Michel Metro station in Paris, killing eight and injuring 86, in an attack blamed on Algerian Muslim extremists. June 11, 1996 - Bomb explodes on the Moscow underground, killing four and injuring 12. July 24, 1996 - Two bombs explode on commuter train in Colombo, Sri Lanka, killing at least 57 and injuring some 450. Dec 30, 1996 - Bomb explodes on a packed train in the northeast Indian state of Assam, killing 300. Police blame Bodo separatist militants. Dec 30, 2000 - Bomb explodes in the front coach of a train pulling in to a station in the Philippine capital Manila, killing at least 11 people and wounding 60. Aug 10, 2001 - UNITA rebels kill up to 252 in attack on passenger train south of the Angolan capital Luanda. The train hit a landmine on the track and exploded into a ball of flame. Feb 27, 2002 - In India, 59 Hindus are burned alive when a suspected Muslim mob set fire to a train. At least 2,500 people, mostly Muslims, die in the ensuing riots. Feb 18, 2003 - More than 182 people are killed and 300 missing when smoke and flames engulf two crowded subway trains in South Korean city of Taegu following an arson attack. Dec 5, 2003 - A suspected suicide bomber kills at least 41 people and injured more than 160 aboard a packed commuter train near rebel Chechnya. March 11, 2004 - One hundred and ninety-one people are killed and more than 1,800 people wounded in simultaneous bomb explosions in packed rush hour trains in three Madrid stations. July 7, 2005 - Four suicide bomb blasts on three underground trains and a bus during London's morning rush hour kill 52 people and injure 700. July 11, 2006 - Seven bombs explode on packed commuter trains in India's financial hub, Mumbai, killing 186 people and wounding at least 700.
