SYDNEY, May 9 (Reuters) - An Austalian woman has tested positive for the new strain of flu, the first confirmed case in the country, Australian Associated Press quoted Queensland state's chief medical officer as saying on Saturday.

A woman from New South Wales state had fallen ill while overseas but had since recovered, AAP said. The H1N1 virus has sickened more than 3,000 people in 27 countries. (Editing by Paul Tait)
