Oct 9 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan reported at 0930 GMT on Friday.

*denotes new or updated items

* HERAT - Afghan and NATO-led troops killed a number of insurgents during air and ground assault during an operation in the Western Guzara district of Herat province, the NATO led force said in a statement.

* SOUTHERN AFGHANISTAN - A soldier serving with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force died of wounds sustained in roadside bomb attack in southern Afghanistan on Thursday, it said in a statement on Friday.

PAKTIA - A suicide bomber driving a car targeted a local security firm, killing six workers and wounding two more, in the eastern Wazi Zadran district of Paktia province, provincial district governor Abdul Wali Zadran said.
