TOKYO, Dec 26 (Reuters) - A tsunami of up to one metre (3.3 feet) triggered by an earthquake off Taiwan may hit the Philippines, Japan's Meteorological Agency (JMA) said on Tuesday.

The agency issued a warning that there was a possibility of a tsunami heading for Basco in the Philippines, but it had no information on whether this had actually happened, a JMA official said.
