(Adds details) SINGAPORE, June 6 (Reuters) - Singapore said on Wednesday it is suspending all poultry and egg imports from Selangor, Malaysia, after the H5N1 bird flu virus was found in chickens near the capital. Singapore's Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) said in a statement that poultry imports from the disease-free zones of Johor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan and Perak in Malaysia would not be affected by the suspension. The H5N1 bird flu virus was found in chickens in central Selangor state, a Malaysian health department official said on Wednesday. "The impact of the suspension of poultry and egg imports from Selangor on our poultry and egg supplies is not significant," AVA said in its statement. While neighbouring Malaysia supplies 3.6 million poultry and 83.7 million eggs a month to Singapore, Selangor accounts for just 6 percent of the poultry and 1 percent of the egg imports from Malaysia, the AVA said.
