BEIJING, Feb 10 (Reuters) - A fireman died in a blaze that consumed part of Central China Television's hypermodern complex in downtown Beijing on Monday night, state media reported on Tuesday.

The fireman inhaled toxic gases in the still unopened building and died in hospital early Tuesday, the Xinhua new agency said, citing municipal fire control authorities. Six other people were injured, including five firefighters.

The building also housed the Mandarin Oriental hotel, which was supposed to open later this year.

CCTV's main production and broadcasting units occupy the main building next door,in a radical leaning tower designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. (Reporting by Yu Le; Editing by Ken Wills)
