Bush to visit fire-ravaged California on Thursday

WASHINGTON, Oct 23 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush will visit fire-ravaged southern California on Thursday to get a close-up look at the damage and emergency efforts, the White House said on Tuesday.

"The president wants to travel to California to witness first-hand what the people there are going through with these wildfires," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.
