WASHINGTON, Sept 30 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Wednesday his administration was "deeply committed" to passing a new energy law that would set caps on greenhouse gas emissions, welcoming a new Senate proposal on the issue. "With the draft legislation they are announcing today, we are one step closer to putting America in control of our energy future and making America more energy independent," Obama said in a statement, referring to a bill introduced by Senators John Kerry and Barbara Boxer. "My Administration is deeply committed to passing a bill that creates new American jobs and the clean energy incentives that foster innovation," he said.
