Aug 3 (Reuters) - GlaxoSmithKline Plc <GSK.L> <GSK.N> said it received another order from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for an additional 22.5 million doses of its bird flu vaccine.

The new order is in addition to the 5 million doses of the vaccine ordered in November 2006.

The British drug maker also said it began the first North American early-stage trial for the vaccine, which targets the H5N1 type of influenza virus. (Reporting by Varsha Tickoo in Bangalore)
