Students stand tied to railings during a protest in Sucre, some 416 km (258 miles) southeast of La Paz, August 28, 2007. Opposition supporters in six regions of Bolivia protested increasing social tensions, as Bolivia's President Evo Morales accused the rightist opposition of stirring up protests to hamper his reformist agenda. Opposition leaders said the strike was "to defend democracy" and to demand the seat of government be moved to the eastern city of Sucre from La Paz. The banner reads, "Bolivia I will defend you with my blood".
