An Afghan migrant leaves his shelter in the woods near the harbour of Calais, northern France, September 21, 2009. Following French Immigration Minister Eric Besson's announcement on September 16, 2009 declaring the closure of the "jungle" of Calais, U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guterres, hoped that appropriate measures will be taken to assure the protection of asylum seekers and unaccompanied children. Hundreds of undocumented foreigners, from countries affected by war and insecurity such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia, camp in makeshift settlements in the woods near Calais from which they stage nightly attempts to cross the English Channel in the hope of entering Britain, according to the U.N. High Commission for Refugees. REUTERS/Pascal Rossignol (FRANCE SOCIETY POLITICS CONFLICT)
