| Description: | International Medical Corps seeks specialists to support a rapid response to emergency livelyhood strategy assessments of the humanitarian crisis. We are seeking specialists in Public Health who will conduct surveys and analyses for implementing action plans; establishing disease and nutrition surveillance systems; performing on-going assessments of situations and relaying information; advising local health officials on findings and preparing plans of action for implementing control measures; and coordinating recommendations with USAID/ OFDA, affected country Ministries and other donor/relief organizations.
This position requires rural field experience assessing medical skills and analyzing needs; experience preparing and implementing medical curricula and training plans; medical qualifications (M.D., Midwife or Practical Nurse considered most useful); background in public health; understanding of rural development issues; knowledge, and preferably, experience managing endemic disease such as TB and malaria. Midwifery or/and community health education, are advantageous. Fluent English required.
